    Though sharing school system and government, among other things, Millburn and Short Hills have distinct geographical lines. The historic Wyoming District, South Mountain and Millburn Center areas make up Millburn, while Short Hills contains the sections of Knollwood, Glenwood, Brookhaven, Country Club, Merrywood, Deerfield-Crossroads, Mountaintop, White Oak Ridge, and Old Short Hills Estates.

    Arts

    The Paper Mill Playhouse, a regional theatre, draws theatre enthusiasts from all over to Millburn. With approximately 1200 Seats, this theatre puts on several shows each season, including an annual production of Nutcracker since 1971.     Recreation

    Many activities are open to the residents of Millburn/Short Hills. A community pool and a municipal Par 3 Golf Course are open to the community.

    The Department of Recreation's programs include: sports, camera and movie clubs, chess, concerts, Manners Matter, playground camps, pony share, roller hockey, smart sitter, and a teen center.

    Some facilities available to the residents of Millburn and Short Hills are:

    • Tatum Park is made up of sixteen acres of land and includes Bauer Community Center, ball fields, pond, tennis and basketball courts, walking path and playground. It is located on Main Street and can be reached at (973) 564-7750
    • Gero Park has 36 acres dedicated to ball fields, lighted tennis, basketball and roller hockey courts, and a playground. The Gero Park Recreation Building is located here and can be reached by calling (973) 379-2221.
    • The Township Pool is also located in Gero Park and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It includes the main pool with water slide and large 0 depth entry wading pool with water umbrella, changing rooms, snack bar and swim team and swimming lessons.     • The Township Par 3 Golf Course located in Gero Park and opens on April 1st. Memberships are available to all residents and some Millburn/Short Hills employees. The number to reach the Golf Course is (973) 379-4156. Gero Park is located on White Oak Ridge Road.
    • Old Short Hills Park is open for passive recreation and is home to Greenwood Gardens and is located on Old Short Hills Rd.
    • Hobart Ave. Park is perfect for families and children with a ball field and play area. It is located on Hobart Avenue.

    Education

    The Millburn Township school system has been ranked by New Jersey Magazine as one of the top 3 schools districts in the state. Millburn High School has been ranked as one of the most academically challenging schools in the nation.

    This town's district is made up of five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. These schools are shared by students from Millburn and Short Hills.

    Transportation

    The Short Hills Train Station is found between Hobart Avenue and Chatham Road. Riders at this station can access both the Morristown Line and the Gladstone Branch in order to reach Hoboken or the Midtown Direct to New York City.

    Permits are available to Millburn/Short Hills residents in the eastern parking lot near the Post Office.

    Local Shopping

    Short Hills is known for its upscale lifestyle. Fine restaurants and stores can be found throughout, but are concentrated in the heart of town on Millburn Avenue.

    The Short Hills Mall is a desired destination for high end shoppers. With stores such as Coach, Burberry, and Polo Ralph Lauren, state-wide and out of state visitors come year round.

    The Hilton Short Hills, rated by AAA as a Five Diamond Hotel, is located near the Short Hills Mall on the western end of town.

    Worship

    The Millburn and Short Hill community unites in spirituality, regardless of religious denomination. Many houses of worship are accessible to the Township and surrounding towns.
